About the Lead Belt Woodcarving Club
The Lead Belt Woodcarving Club is a local community of woodcarvers based in Bonne Terre, Missouri, created to give carvers of all experience levels a place to learn, share, carve, and enjoy the hobby together.
Our first meeting was held on March 9, 2026, at the Art & Creativity Center in Bonne Terre, (48 Raider Rd, Bonne Terre, MO 63628)
and we've been gathering there ever since.
The club meets every Monday at 6:00 PM, with meetings typically lasting about 2 to 2½ hours. Members bring their current projects, tools, questions, & create plenty of wood shavings. Some nights are focused on simply carving together, while others may include demonstrations, beginner projects, new techniques, or help with sharpening and knife control.
Whether you've been carving for years or you've never picked up a carving knife before, you're welcome here. Our goal is to keep woodcarving approachable, encourage new carvers, share what we know, and help keep the tradition of hand carving alive in the Lead Belt.
Come carve with us. We always have a few beginner projects and loaner tools available for first timers!
